The Story: A native of Hamilton, Ontario Canada, Orr began operations in Burlington in 1960 with her first store on Brant and Caroline Streets. Her success in textiles peaked when she co-founded FabricLand in Toronto in the late 1960s. Then, she moved to Florida, where she had lived from 1972 to 1988. Jackie Orr’s Canadian designer department store (JJ Orr) closed it’s operations in Feb 2013.
