TERMS + CONDITIONS Please view and inspect all photos closely, as the terms and conditions will apply to all items listed. We endeavor to fully disclose all condition information clearly and concisely, however, please note that what qualifies as excellent condition for antique or vintage costume jewelry differs from modern, contemporary or precious / fine jewelry pieces. Minor age wear is typical and to be expected for antique and vintage jewelry. Unless otherwise stated, gemstones have not been officially graded for color, clarity, or treatment. Any gold tone or silver tone jewelry may be referenced as "gold" or "silver" to describe appearance, though this does not indicate any sort of purity or content unless otherwise noted as such. Any information provided is our own educated, professional assessment.

Condition

CONDITION   With the exclusion of anything listed in the UNDER $20 shop and the SALE shop - All merchandise listed for purchase on the Prairie Vintage site is used and unless otherwise noted should be assumed to be in very good to better condition, which means there may be signs of age or light wear.  We try to note any manufacturing flaws, missing stones, damages or unusual signs of wear whenever possible.  Please keep in mind that all items we sell are classified as vintage or antique, and there will always be an older "feel" to the item no matter how perfect, it just wouldn't be vintage or an antique if it had no character or story behind it's being!  Our flawed items will always indicate as such and these items will be labelled as a "SALE" item and discounted in price.

Items sold in the Under $20 and SALE shops are assumed to be in AS-IS condition. These may or may not have missing stones, dangles or drops, may come with non-original clasps and fittings, may be in like-new to poor condition. Imperfections and flaws are not detailed on the item description for most of these items. Pictures may be limited - please send inquiry with any questions.

When purchasing vintage jewelry from Prairie Vintage, please be aware of the following:

Vintage jewelry, by its very nature is not new. Some items may have imperfections, including, but not limited to discoloration and stone replacements or repairs. We take care to describe each item's condition with words and photographs.

CARE GUIDE: It’s best to keep your jewelry free of dirt, cosmetics, hairspray and perfume. Avoid water and harsh chemicals. We recommend cleaning sterling silver, gold and other precious metals with specialized cleaners.

5/5 Unused; like-new condition, no signs of visible wear

4/5 Occasional Use; light surface scuffing / minimal to no surface wear

3/5 Light Use; minor surface wear/ light scuffing - No chips or damages or crazing

2/5 Regular Use; slight crazing visible, manufacturing imperfections, minor chips, surface wear or scuffing / light scratches

1/5 Heavy Use; crazing, chips may be present, possible repairs, surface wear or fading

Vintage clothing, by its very nature is not new. Some items may have imperfections, including, but not limited to stains and repairs. We take care to describe each item's condition with words and photographs. These garments are used and more than likely, were previously worn.

Vintage clothing sizes can vary greatly. The measurements provided are taken with garment lying flat. We suggest taking a similar garment from your wardrobe and measure it while lying flat. This way you can compare measurements.

We have a smoke-free environment with a couple of cats who curiously sniff around at our feet as we work. We can not guarantee that any previously used items did not come from a smoke-free / pet free home. If you are concerned with smoke and or have allergies to pets please be aware that some of these items may have been in contact with either of the two at some point in time.

These vintage items have more than likely been used and or previously worn. Care must be taken when wearing and cleaning these items. Displayed hues and colors vary, depending on your computer screen. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors and images of our products that appear at the store. We cannot guarantee that your computer monitor's display of any color will be accurate.

Value

VALUE   We always research all of our items and we base the price on what we believe is the fair market value for that particular piece.  We take the condition of the item into consideration when pricing the item.  All pieces that are worse for wear or have some sort of flaw, or missing stone, we will indicate as such in the item description, and these items will have a reduced price and may be found listed under our "SALE" items. We believe that if you are absolutely loving the piece that you see, then you shouldn't hesitate to purchase or offer what you feel the item is worth to you personally.  If you are very happy with your item then we believe that you’ve made a good investment with your purchase.  You know you can purchase from us with confidence, just read the testimonial feedbacks below and you'll be reassured!
