Ercole Moretti Studio Italian Riviera Seafoam Injected Polystyrene 'Shadow Glass' Corda di Resina In-Situ Cord Cast Sautoir Art Deco Flapper Necklace
Materials and Features:
Precision In-Situ Thermal Fusion: A masterclass in early industrial polymer engineering. Each 15mm faceted navette and 3mm round spacer is permanently "welded" to the internal twisted cord. The internal fiber-saturation visible along the cord line confirms a high-heat injection process unique to the 1920's.
Authentic Bench-Made Casting: The necklace features clean, sharp faceting on the 15mm navettes with 100% centered bead placement. Consistent with early 20th-century industrial methods, slight material overages (flashing) are present at the mold junctions, predominantly on the 3mm round spacers. These subtle "outliers" are characteristic signatures of early bench-monitored production and serve as forensic proof of the piece's age and artisanal origin.
'Shadow Glass' Seafoam Mimicry: Engineered specifically to replicate the fire-polished "glow" of Murano sea-glass. The high-clarity injected polystyrene provides a rhythmic geometric silhouette in a featherweight 16.5g mass, designed for the high-impact movement of the Jazz Age.
Type: Extra-long "Super Sautoir" flapper rope; clasp-less continuous loop.
Age/Origin: c. 1926 - 1932 / Venice, Italy (Ercole Moretti Studio).
Measurements:
Weight: 16.5g (Archival Lightweight Engineering)
Length: 59" (Super Sautoir)
Bead Dimensions: 15mm x 7.5mm Navettes (3mm thickness); 3mm Round Spacers.
Condition: Excellent archival condition. The early polystyrene remains vibrant and high-clarity with no surface crazing. The original white twisted fiber cord is remarkably preserved and remains structurally sound and permanently fused within the cast beads.
