Marks: Unmarked (although definitely representative of Rebajes works). Spring ring clasp to safety chain is marked ‘GERMANY’
The Story: From 1932 to 1967 - Francisco Rebajes was one of the first craftsman jewelers in New York's Greenwich Village. Rebajes came to New York in 1922 from his native Dominican Republic at the age of 16. By the early 50's, Rebajes opened a beautiful modern store on 5th Avenue at 37th street. His uniquely designed copper jewelry can be found in many places and, later in life, he begin working on sculpture. Francisco Rebajes relocated to Spain & continued to make jewelry until his death in 1990.
